Ya todo está casi listo para el Festival Gastronómico Mistura 2010. Las entradas se pueden adquirir en pre-venta hasta el 06 de septiembre en Teleticket de Wong y Metro. El costo de pre-venta es de S/. 15 por entrada. Otra opción es el paquete familiar: 2 niños ( 5 a 12 años) + 2 adultos a S/. 40.

Durante la feria las entradas se podrán adquirir en las diversas boleterías instaladas en las afueras del Parque de la Exposición.. El costo de las mismas en la feria será de S/. 10 para niños, S/. 20 para adultos y el paquete familiar S/. 50.

Este es un remake policial, que desarrolla la historia de un policía corrupto y abusivo, quién ha utilizado su cargo, para adquirir un beneficio propio. El teniente Terence McDonagh vuelve al Departamento de policía de Nueva Orleans después de recuperarse de una larga lesión. Su adicción a los fármacos y la cocaína no le impide desempeñar su trabajo lo mejor posible, por eso le encargan la investigación de una masacre cometida sobre una familia de inmigrantes africanos. El caso se irá complicando poco a poco, haciendo peligrar la carrera de McDonagh, mientras el detective intenta proteger a su amada Frankie, una prostituta adicta a las drogas.

Esta nueva versión de “Teniente corrupto” ha sido dirigida por el alemán Werner Herzog, responsable de títulos documentales como “Grizzly man” y “Encuentros en el fin del mundo” (nominada al Oscar en 2009). Una de las grandes novedades del guión fue el cambio de ciudad donde transcurre la trama, de Nueva York a Nueva Orleans.

La primera versión de “Teniente corrupto” contaba con Harvey Keitel como protagonista. La dura tarea de sustituirle ha recaído en Nicolas Cage, junto a él, encontramos a la espectacular Eva Mendes. También figura Val Kilmer.

**INTERNATIONAL STUDENT TUITION WAIVER AT CHADRON STATE COLLEGE

Introduction
The Chadron State College International Student Tuition Waiver is an undergraduate tuition (fees not included) award for degree-seeking international students attending classes on the CSC campus. The maximum award is equal to one-half of the Nebraska residential tuition for up to 16 credit hours per semester, with a total of 8 semesters. Recipients must attend consecutive semesters and maintain eligibility criteria for renewal.

Application
To be considered for the award, international students must submit a completed International Student Tuition Waiver application by the June 1st for Fall enrollment and November 1st for Spring enrollment.

Notification
Recipients will notified of their award by mail or email and have 14 days from the mailing date to accept or decline. If no response is received by the deadline date, the award will be forfeited and recipients become ineligible for future consideration.

Eligibility Requirements
•    Applicants must be entering international freshmen or be new international transfer students from a regionally accredited American university or college.
•    Entering Freshmen
o    Must score 600 or better on paper-based TOEFL
o    Or 100 or better on internet-based TOEFL
o    Or 7or better on lELTS
o     Or score a 1550 or better on the SAT
o    Or 22 or better on the ACT
•    New Transfers
o    Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or better on all
transfer credit from all institutions previously attended
o    Must have completed and passed one semester of a 100-level or higher English course.
The international tuition waiver is not available to:
•    Students seeking online undergraduate.

**NEW TUITION RATE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY

Beginning 2010, Eastern Illinois University will extend the equivalent of in-state tuition for freshman and transfer students (first-time undergraduate EIU students) who meet the distinguished student criteria which is a grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Original transcripts will be evaluated by our staff member. No special application is necessary. Those qualified undergraduate students will automatically be granted the lower tuition rate.

**MASTER’S IN INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY AT HARVARD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The International Education Policy program is an intensive one-year program that prepares students for leadership positions advancing educational innovation and reform globally.  Students hail from a variety of geographic, educational, and work backgrounds, yet all are individuals interested in educational policy leadership, innovation, reform, and entrepreneurship in developing countries, in the U.S., and other OECD countries.

Our curriculum emphasizes the comparative study of educational systems as well as the analytic skills to identify the core causes of education challenges,  to generate opportunities to address these challenges, and to evaluate their impact.  The core curriculum includes courses focusing on comparative and international education, policy analysis, and evaluation. During the program, students develop leadership and management skills to implement and supervise educational improvement projects and programs. In addition, numerous co-curricular activities engage the students in frequent dialogue with leading global education practitioners.

IEP graduates are firmly grounded in an understanding of the relationship between education policy and programs and instructional improvement in the classroom in a variety of educational institutions. They also have extensive comparative knowledge of reforms and improvement programs and have the ability to work in a variety of institutional and geographic settings.

In addition to teaching, our faculty are deeply involved with issues of practice. Students get to work with and learn from leading faculty who investigate the role of education policy in advancing educational opportunity.  In addition to the core faculty at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, students in the program work with visiting faculty and with visiting scholars in the numerous international and area studies centers at Harvard University.

Through cross-program and cross-school interactions, the IEP program offers students the advantages of the Harvard-wide community, which provides myriad opportunities to engage with and learn from scholars with diverse backgrounds, interests, and disciplinary understandings.  Harvard is on a mission to become a truly global university in the 21st century. **THE UNIVERSITY OF MOUNT UNION OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS [WU#177]

Mount Union is in Alliance, Ohio.

The International Award is given automatically to non-native English speaking applicants who qualify based on a review of a student’s English language proficiency level at the time of acceptance. To qualify for the International Award, applicants must be admitted as an F-1 degree seeking student and hold a valid I-20 form which will be issued by Mount Union and must not have completed their entire secondary school education in an English curriculum.

The award amounts are the following:

• 45-60 iBT (PB TOEFL scores between 450 and 497) or
an IELTS score of 4.5 – $7,500 award

• 61 iBT (PB TOEFL scores at 500 and above) or an IELTS
score of 5.0 and above – $10,000 award

In addition, we also offer need based financial aid and if an international student qualifies as according to the College Board’s International Student Financial Aid Application it could mean an additional $6,000 for a total max of $16,000.

Our total cost for 2010-2022 for tuition, fees, room and meals is $32,584 so on average we can help with about 50% of the total cost.

El maestro David del Pino es uno de los más destacados representantes de la Dirección de Orquesta en Latinoamérica. Actualmente viene dirigiendo con éxito la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Chile y anteriormente fue director de la Orquesta Sinfónica de ese país. En esta oportunidad, vuelve al Perú para dirigir a la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional acompañado de uno de los más eminentes pianistas de nuestros tiempos y aclamado por su maestría y dominio absoluto del instrumento, el mexicano Jorge Federico Osorio.

En este único Concierto de Gala, gracias al esfuerzo conjunto de Radio Filarmonía, la radio cultural del Perú, y la Embajada de México en el Perú, el público podrá disfrutar de un programa que incluirá el Concierto N° 5 para piano “Emperador” de Ludwig van Beethoven y la Sinfonía N° 1 “Titán” de Gustav Mahler.

El concierto se llevará a cabo el viernes 3 de setiembre de 2010 a las 7:30 pm, en el auditorio del Colegio Santa Úrsula de San Isidro, luego del cual tendrá lugar la tradicional Cena de Gala en el Swissôtel.

Por casi un siglo, la Nación del Fuego ha entablado su campaña mortífera para lograr el dominio global sobre las naciones tribales del Aire, el Agua y la Tierra. Ellos únicamente ofrecen una alternativa a las tribus que caen ante su poder: capitulación total o aniquilación completa.

Cuando los habitantes intentan en vano defenderse, se unen detrás de los pocos privilegiados que pueden dominar el elemento de su nación y usarlo según su voluntad.  Sin embargo, respaldados por enormes ejércitos y armas destructoras, los Maestros del Fuego han logrado eliminar a cada uno de los Maestros del Aire en el planeta y ahora deciden atacar a la Nación del Agua, cuya base de operaciones está en su fortaleza en el norte.

Un día, la joven Maestra del Agua Katara (Nicola Peltz) se encuentra practicando con su hermano Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) cuando descubren a un joven llamado Aang (Noah Ringer).  Pero cuando la habilidad como Maestro del Aire de Aang se hace evidente, Katara y Sokka comprenden que han encontrado algo más que sólo El Último Maestro del Aire.  Como el Avatar anunciado por la profecía – él único con el poder para controlar los cuatro elementos – el joven Maestro del Aire es la única arma que puede repeler el ataque mortal de la Nación del Fuego y finalmente restaurar el equilibrio en un mundo destrozado por la guerra.  ¿Pero puede él dominar completamente sus habilidades y convertirse en el héroe que todos necesitan antes que sea demasiado tarde?

-    Tanto Noah Ringer como Dev Patel son cinturones negros en Taekwondo.

En 814 DC. Johanna está condenada a vivir como mujer. El precio que ella tendrá que pagar es muy alto. Estudiando en la escuela catedral conoce al Conde Gerold y su amistad se convierte en amor. Gerold es mandado a la guerra, Johanna decide unirse al Monasterio de los Benedictos disfrazada de hombre, llamándose a sí misma Hermano Johannes y ahí vive como un exitoso y respetado doctor. Cuando su verdadera identidad corre el riesgo de ser revelada, ella huye hacia Roma. Ahí encuentra a Gerold y se da cuenta que solo hay una cosa que no puede negar: su amor por él. Johanna continua ascendiendo en la jerarquía de la iglesia y conforme eso sucede y el resigo de ser descubierta va en aumento, siente la necesidad de decidir si quiere entregar su corazón a Dios o a un hombre. Pero de pronto el Papa Sergio muere y Johanna es nombrada como su sucesor. Sin embargo sus sentimientos por Gerold son más fuertes que su miedo a ser descubierta.  Su existencia fue un secreto y su nombre fue removido de los libros de historia. La vida de Johanna quien dirigió a la Iglesia Católica como el Papa Johannes Anglicus en el siglo IX se convirtió en leyenda.

Se abordarán temas sobre la concepción original de depredador, las primeras películas, los cómics y demás universo expandido que ha ido aumentando la complejidad de estos personajes. Así mismo, detalles de la última realización de Robert Rodriguez en DEPREDADORES que llega a las salas peruanas este 19 de Agosto.

Robert Rodríguez presenta DEPREDADORES, un nuevo y audaz capítulo en el universo de “Depredador”, protagonizada por Adrien Brody (“The Pianist”), quien da vida a Royce, un mercenario que lidera con renuencia a un grupo de privilegiados guerreros que terminan por darse cuenta que los han juntado en un planeta extraterrestre… para que sirvan de presa.
